Hey Everyone!

I just wanted to get other women's (and men's) opinion on this one....

Do you think it's okay for Christians to watch movies with nudity in it. My husband thinks it's not that big of a deal. He says a person can just look away. I feel any movie with nudity in it isn't worth my money or time and is just humiliating to women. Not only that, but it just feels wrong to me.

What do you gals/guys think? Is it enough to just look away?

Also, how about other TV shows where the women barely cover their chests such as the show "Deal or No Deal." Women, would you care if your husbands watched something like that or not?

Thanks!

I think it best not to surround yourselves with these movies.  However I do on occasion watch them, I just don't stare at the screen when that part is on.  Also, my husband (a non-believer) when watching the movies does not lust after the woman and doesn't even focus hisself on the "love scene/nudity".  I think it is the position that your thoughts are in...If this is something that you or yours struggles with then this is not something you should be watching.

Hi Lori,

I agree with you.  I really don't think men should be watching these TV shows.  It wasn't that many years ago that these things weren't even on TV but now that they are, everyone just assumes it's acceptable.

It's really to the point now where you can't go anywhere (even church) or do anything (like watch TV in your own home) where you aren't bombarded with inappropriate behavior or manner of dress.  I hate to say it, but women are the worst offenders.  I'm pretty much sick of going out to the mall and having a steady of stream of women walking past my husband and I that are dressed like they should be standing on a street corner somewhere.  I know I'm getting older but I remember when a woman would actually be embarrassed to be dressed that way.

And I hate to say it, but even the better husbands notice these women.

A preacher told the following story during the church service & it's a great way to decide which movies to watch...

He said...A dad's teenage kids wanted to go to a movie that had a little bit of nudity in it.  They said they had heard that the nudity parts were very brief.  Dad told them that he would think about it.  Dad then made a batch of brownies.  He called the kids in & told them that they could see the movie if they would 1st eat the brownies that he had made.  He also told them "By the way, when I made the brownies I added just a little bit of dog poop to the mix.  If it's ok for you to watch a movie that has just a little bit of nudity in it, then you probably won't mind that the brownies have just a little bit of dog poop in them."  The kids didn't eat the brownies, nor see the movie!

Another thought...What you see is what you retain & absorb.
